Chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper movement and alignment to the spine and extremity joints so the body can function at its best.
When joints lose normal motion — whether in the neck, back, ribs, shoulders, hips, knees, or even toes — it can affect posture, balance, muscle activation, and nerve communication. Our goal is to improve joint mechanics so your structure, movement patterns, and nervous system can work more efficiently.
We treat the whole person — not just the area of pain.
A stiff big toe can change your running mechanics.
Tight forearm muscles can cause fingertip numbness.
A restricted SI joint can create low back pain.
A frozen shoulder can limit daily life.
Chiropractic care may include:
-Manual adjustments
-Gentle mobilization
-Instrument-assisted adjustments (such as Activator)
-Extremity joint treatment
-Soft tissue techniques
Treatment is individualized. Some patients respond best to low-force techniques; others benefit from more dynamic approaches. We select methods based on your condition, tolerance, and goals.
Dr. Mike is one of the few Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) providers in Oklahoma, with advanced training in sports-related injuries and performance care.
Chiropractic is regulated in all 50 states and focuses on improving structure to support the body’s natural ability to heal.

Acupuncture is a 2,000-year-old healing practice that involves stimulating specific points on the body — most commonly with thin, sterile needles — to reduce pain and support healing.
Modern research suggests acupuncture may work by:
-Stimulating nerve pathways
-Releasing endorphins and neurohormones
-Modulating inflammation
-Influencing pain perception
Large-scale studies have shown acupuncture to be effective for chronic pain and nausea, including chemotherapy-related nausea. The World Health Organization maintains a list of conditions for which acupuncture may be beneficial, particularly pain-related disorders.
Acupuncture may be helpful for:
-Chronic pain
-Headaches
-Joint pain
-Stress and anxiety
-Nausea
-Sleep disturbances
In Oklahoma, acupuncture is not independently regulated at the state level. Dr. Mike completed formal acupuncture training and passed the NBCE Acupuncture Examination.
Acupuncture is often most effective when combined with healthy lifestyle habits and other appropriate medical care.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), sometimes called pressure wave therapy, uses acoustic pulses to stimulate healing in tendons, ligaments, fascia, and muscle.
Shockwave therapy is commonly used for:
-Plantar fasciitis
-Tennis elbow
-Frozen shoulder
-Chronic tendon injuries
The acoustic waves promote circulation, break down dysfunctional tissue, and stimulate the body’s repair response.
Most treatment plans involve 4–6 sessions.
We use technology from Storz Medical, considered a leading manufacturer in shockwave therapy.

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, low-force manual technique that works with the membranes and fluids surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
The goal is to reduce restrictions that may affect the central nervous system and overall body function.
Using subtle touch, the practitioner assesses movement and rhythm within the craniosacral system and applies light techniques to encourage balance.
Patients often seek craniosacral therapy for:
-Chronic pain
-Headaches
-Stress-related tension
-Nervous system dysregulation
It is a subtle but deeply restorative form of manual therapy.

There is a difference between over-the-counter shoe inserts and true custom orthotics.
Shoe inserts provide general cushioning and arch support.
Custom orthotics are prescription devices designed specifically for your foot structure and movement patterns.
Custom orthotics are created after a full biomechanical evaluation and are designed to:
-Improve foot alignment
-Reduce strain on joints
-Support gait mechanics
-Decrease foot, knee, hip, and low back pain
Dr. Mike is both a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) and a Certified Pedorthist (CPed), uniquely trained to evaluate, prescribe, and integrate orthotics into a comprehensive treatment plan.
Custom orthotics are an investment — but when properly prescribed, they can significantly improve long-term function and comfort.

Therapeutic elastic taping provides support without restricting movement.
It may help:
-Support muscles
-Improve proprioceptive feedback
-Reduce superficial swelling
-Decrease pain
The tape is lightweight, flexible, water-resistant, and wearable during activity.
Research suggests kinesiology taping can provide short-term pain relief compared to minimal intervention.
Dr. Mike Van Antwerp is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) and integrates taping with other rehabilitative strategies when appropriate.

Nonsurgical spinal decompression uses controlled traction to gently stretch the spine and reduce pressure on discs and nerves.
It is commonly used for:
-Herniated or bulging discs
-Sciatica
-Chronic neck or low back pain
-Degenerative disc conditions
By creating negative pressure within the disc, decompression may help reduce nerve irritation and improve fluid exchange within the disc.
Treatment plans typically involve multiple sessions.
